sundays are best i spec

so we decided that we like sundays best here.
ironically it was the busiest day of the week. (so much for a day of rest)

so we start church at 9. we have relief society (our president is awesome, returned missionary and you know what returned sister missionaries are like) then sunday school, but there's like 5 of them so we have to find the one we like best. then sacrament meeting, all in classrooms that just feel off but it works.

so we had Elder Robert Chambers our area seventy come speak to us at sacrament meeting.. and well lets just say that we asked around what his talk was about and nobody could tell us (i might have dozed off at one point)
then choir practice, and i was really stoked except i ended up with these two girls (one's really awkward kind of gawky girl and her room mate that's just kind of obnoxious) and lets just say they weren't exactly good at singing. and they did this thing where i think they were both trying to sing louder than eachother. the two words that best describe their singing = harsh and sour.
and it kind of ruined some of the songs for me. and then one of them (the worse of the two) turns and shares my hymn book and i'm just wincing the whole time. like it was kind of that bad. like she could get the high notes but it was more of screaming them.
its like they didn't know what they were singing they just wanted to be heard. and i'm like.. no.. its supposed to be pretty and reverent. so we'll see if next time i get a better experience.

but later that night we had a stake fireside where he was going to speak. most of us were like.. .um... we heard him sacrament meeting...
but it was fun because 403 girls (our newest addition to our group) had this luncheon thing before and then we all walked down together.

and it was actually one of the best firesides. A bunch of people spoke but Elder Chambers was amazing. He mostly addressed the young men but it was such a good talk. and there was a special musical number that was a cello and piano duet of Jesus Once of Humble Birth that made me cry it was so beautiful. (i'm a sucker for the string intruments)

then we went back for dorm prayer, then headed straight to stadium singing, which gets better and better everytime. and we were actually in the center this time not on the outskirts.
and then we went back to 403 for hot chocolate and ice-cream. best combination mint chocolate ice-cream IN the ice-cream. soooo good. i lerve it. its def my new fav.

so i started at 9 and didn't come back and chill until 11:30
but definately a good busy.
♥ sundays at byu-i are best i think

stadium singing was always my favorite too and i know what you mean about being in the middle instead of the outside, its wayyy better.
